Again with the pen sketches. Oh well, it's a good way to flesh Chai out. Recognize this young lady? It's the same young lady from Storm Crow ([link] ) but more or less grown up. I'll have to do a full character sheet for her one of these days. She hasn't even got a name. But those tattoos are awesome.

The area of the island chain the young lady is sitting on is an island known as Seivii's Peak, while the island she's looking at is Angel Island. Angel Island is home, ironically, to a group of angels. They arrived in Chai to do some evangelizing, but the slaves they brought with them caused some... problems for them. Anyway, the conflict eventually got so bad that The Sleeper broke part of Chai Island off and separated the two warring parties onto their own islands. The Sleeper then put a guardian - the Cloud Whale - in between them, to prevent the Angels and their former slaves from ever starting up their old war.

The whale doesn't keep the islands apart, it keeps the island's inhabitants apart. Also, the slaves have black wings tattooed on thier backs, while the Angels have actual (white) wings. I like that little bit, too.

i love me those tatoos.

they are really cool.

and i like how the whale keeps the island apart.

also, i like how the former slaves and their masters had to be separated.

that's just great.

(if i were ever to get a tatoo, if that is, it would be something equally cool as hers.)

Thanks. Just wait 'till Chai gets a little more detailed. Things'll get really weird.
